What is SpO2 data?
Certain Fitbit smartwatches have the ability to read blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) through the magic of their technology.
There are specific clocks available on the Fitbit App Gallery which let you view this data in association with your other stats.
Can my Lignite clock show SpO2 data?
We'd love to show your SpO2 data on your favourite Lignite clock. There's just one problem.
Fitbit does not allow third-party developers such as ourselves to access SpO2 data.
We asked Fitbit for a statement, and they replied as such:
There is a complex system of regulations and legal constraints surrounding the use of this type of data, and those rules even vary by country, so it's not as simple as just exposing an API at this time.
However, if Fitbit ever adds support for third-party developers such as ourselves to show your SpO2 data through your watch, we will be sure to add support for it to all of our clocks.
